John reads his poem “When a seeker finds the light” from his chapbook The Dark Ways Mysterious. He also discusses the forbidden energy of human creativity, hellfire, and the work of William Blake.
Blake questioned how the creator could make both a lamb and a tiger .Food for thought indeed ! We know life is full of opposite forces ;virtue and sin ,guilt and innocence .Living in the time he did he realised how religion has always quashed man's passions and lust and quest for fulfillment .As you have so rightly outlined John man is caught up in this etermal conflict. The picture you chose is very powerful charged with both mythological and erotic meaning ...reaching for the attainable through so called transgression .
As always a joy to listen to and stimulating stuff .
