In this special episode, John examines the role of poetry and fiction in our era, discusses new challenges for independent creators, and asks how his own writing and podcast can serve the culture.
Being at a crossroads is not necessarily a bad place to be , you have options North ,East, South and West .It is however a place to stop and take stock of what has been accomplished and what still awaits.Itchy feet to get going , the old wanderlust of unfettered exploration of the literary world .
I see your podcast is titled "Be true".An appeal to stay genuine and have an honest voice . This also makes me remember some cheap kids candy we used to eat as youngsters .. heart shaped sugary sweets called unsurprisingly 'Love hearts' .Each sweet would have a message like 'Be mine" or 'Be true'.So it made me want to comment on your query about how a writer changes , evolves , weathers the storms and continues to write .
Like a love story ...some stories are brief and intense ....the old Romeo and Juilet scenario .Was love really meant to last a lifetime? If so , in what form ? how does it mutate and survive ? Therefore I take your 'Be True' to be your great love for the written word .I interpret your 'Be True' to be like love itself ...something essential to us all, in its many shapes and forms .
Thanks Jane! It’s how I live. Not the podcast but the effort every day to figure things out. Even a compulsion sometimes. It took a long time for me to reveal it. Now that I have…what do I do with it?😂😂😂 and I love the association with the heart candy!!! I never thought of that before!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
